Day 19 San Sebastian to Madrid: The Airport Shuffle--Shortest Walking Day. Shortest Blogging Day.

Paul and I are sad to say goodbye to the greenery of Northern Spain.  We had a nice goodbye lunch in the plaza before going to the airport.

Burger Time!
The one is San Sebastian is very small and so easy to navigate, but in typical European fashion, no one was at the desk until an hour before the flight. But we made it to Madrid and off we went to our new hotel, Villa Real. It is a lovely place and right in the museum district. Great for sightseeing.

Paul says, "It's nice to have a sitting area." This is an attached sunken living room with a view of Plaza Cortes

5 star hotel for $100. We are the poster children for HOTWIRE!

Green marble tub

Robes, slippers---luxury at upper middle class prices.
We had dinner in our hotel which I didn't photo, but just coz I don't want you to be jealous. It was all vegetarian. Overall it was a good day for transferring locations. We did our smallest walking day--about 3 miles! I think I feel my buttocks burgeoning  :(

Paul's Ponderings:  Mostly a day of transfers and moving about!   We did get to Madrid in time to have a nice dinner and a bottle of wine from La Mancha area (you won't see that much at home).   Other than that, we are close to winding it up over here -- will be nice to be home late this week, but it's sure been a fun trip.
